Mild curiosity led me to click the msn link of "teen fashions for fall". What, I wonder, is 'in' among the It teens of today?
Two hundred dollar pink Prada purses, and a really ugly quilted lavender COACH bucket hat. For a hundred dollars.

Tainting in the name of Truth, the Light, and the Way. There was a young thing with sandy hair, a white polo, and khakis who knelt nearby in the 'graphic novels' section. Liz was at a better angle to observe, but was unsure of whether this was a really cute boy or a really gay girl. I laughed (quietly) and assured her it was a boy. This assured, she wondered as to who he'd be, at our age. White polo and khakis spoke of a straight-up sort of school, now. But later? Would he be like one of us? The grungy one, or the one dressed in black? He'd started out in the Marvel section, but eased slightly closer into the manga, selecting titles at apparent random and reading the backs as if to say "see? I'm reading manga like y'all" and looking up to see if we saw. I noticed none of this, but Liz did. We wanted to take him. Keep him. Corrupt him to our ways. Liz to teach him (as she teaches me) about the ways of the manga, and I to open his eyes to other worlds. He left, eventually, unknowing of our hidden attention, and we chuckled to each other over our desires to taint him.
I'm starting to feel the presence of the rest of my life. In but a few months, I'll graduate from college. Afterwards, I have absolutely no idea. Too many possibilities. It's a little terrifying. It's a little exciting. It's a little surreal. I'm feeling it, but I'm not really worrying. Just sort of plan on winging things.
I wish I could find that Kraftwerk CD I had, before. What I've downloaded doesn't seem to cut it.
